If you’re like me, in your financial distress you have found yourself outraged by the amount of money you spend on your cable or satellite. After making the decision to not return to work and become a full time mommy, my husband and I decided we needed to become smarter with how we spend our money. The $1200 we spent a year on our satellite service seemed like the obvious place to start.
We decided to cancel our service for a small fee. We then subscribed to HULU PLUS for our favorite weekly TV shows and Netflix for movies and some of our favorite Showtime and HBO series. We are able to stream these services through our PS3! Now I’m a big fan of my local news morning show on CBS 12 so I needed to be able to watch that. My husband purchased an over the air amplified antenna so that we could still have some basic channels and it works like a dream. We saved $75 a month by making these changes in how we receive our television entertainment.
I was so excited about this that i shared it with my mom who was left with the following question, “How can i do it if I don’t have a PS3?”
